SOO Five Years Ago?

So, I hung some plates on my wall above the windows in my kitchen and when Jeremy came home he scrunched his nose and said "that is so five years ago." Never one to completely trust his decorative opinion, I kept them up... in fact I added one more to each side.

I then changed the front plate to these vintage-looking green ones with cute little birds on them. When he came home from work he took one look and said "do you know how old I am? Do you know how old you are? We aren't grandparents yet.. those are so ugly.. are you serious with those?"

And, yes, I AM serious with these. I like them. I am tough, I can take his criticism, so this post is just to prove that. No, I don't want to hear you say that he was right. Don't say anything, unless, of course, you agree with me. haha.

Ok...I really like the plate thing and I am not just saying that. Even Brooke Christen has plates hung in her house and she is the GM of Black Goose (currently). I like that you doubled them for some depth, but my fave part is the plate racks are individual, not one long rack (because that makes it a little different. You go girl!

I LOVE THEM! They are very very pretty. This one time I brought home pillows with a print on them and Ammon said, those are "old" looking... just ignore guy's they don't know what they're talking about.

They are fabulous! I have plates in my bathroom (yes, my bathroom...weird I know, they make sense). Anyway, not siding with you just because you are the girl, but I do think they are pretty and add another touch of homeiness to your already beautiful home.

Do you want to know Robert's idea of decor?
I came home yesterday and found that staff bag we bought him for his b-day last year in his office. "It looks good huh?" Yes, right there in the empty corner of his office sat that Ben Hogan bag. (he was serious BTW)
I'll have to agree w/ you. Those plates look great up there.
Where did you find those holders? I love them! I agree with Cas- that orange plate behind them adds a lot!

Sure they will critique your decorating, but where are they when you want to rearrange the living room, or your bedroom, or your kids rooms. I am lucky in the fact that Jason doesn't care. I am pretty sure he figures if it make me happy, it's worth having ugly stuff, cuz if Momma ain't happy...

I will have to agree with everyone else who has posted a comment. I love the plates and the look of them (you picked some really cute colors that bring out the color of your wall and I am sure all the other cute things in your kitchen). I just don't take the time to ask Grant if he likes what I have done, and if he has a comment I usally tune him out. Hahahaha.

I like the plates....Cas is right Brooke has them in her kitchen and people PAY her for her decorating advice...Jeremy loses this one.

Tell Jeremy to stick to golf and you stick to decorating. I love these plates (but them I am so five years ago) (or fifty years ago)
